Danny brings a wide variety of leadership and teaching experiences to Te Matauru Primary. Following school Principalship in three different North Island primary schools, Danny most recently worked as a Leadership Advisor supporting beginning Principals across the Bay of Plenty.
Danny enjoys being part of a collaborative and engaged community. He is excited by the challenge of building a new school from the ground up and the opportunities this provides for the students of Rangiora. Danny looks forward to leading the school through its initial development and then consolidation in the years ahead.
Danny lives in the Te Matauru zone community with his wife Jacinta, who is also a teacher, and their youngest daughter Mae. Their older children, Isaac and Laura, have recently left home to work and study and so they are working through the family “downsizing” that happens at this stage of life as well as the excitement of joining a new community. As well as family, Danny enjoys sports, reading, writing, and travel. He spends far too much of his spare time following Liverpool FC and remains forever hopeful that this will be “our year”.
